Bozak B-4000 Speakers

To the point: I have an opportunity to purchase a pair of Bozak B-4000 speakers tomorrow from a seller that knows very little about audio. I could only see the back of the cabinets from where they were placed, so assuming they're non-functional, what would be a safe price to offer? Past and current sale prices seem to be all over the place from what I've found in my searches.

Details: A friend of mine that is helping a man clear out one of his properties with a yard sale tomorrow let me take a peek at the contents and I found quite a bit of audio gear (probably a dozen TTs alone), mostly from the 60s-80s. The B-4000s were facing a wall and I didn't even notice them until I was leaving so I have little to go on as far as condition. The owner of the house has to clear out the estate following a very tragic incident a couple weeks ago where the owner of all the gear killed his family and then himself. Having had no relation to the owner of the gear aside from landlord, there is no way to inquire the seller on the condition of the items. Some pieces appear as though they were in use, some still in their boxes, and others are completely disassembled so it's a complete toss-up on functionality.

Any suggestions on an offer would be appreciated.

Seriously if someone was left to clear the remnants of a tragedy of that magnitude I would think everything would be cheap.Real cheap.

500-600 is what I see locally. They are hard to move and place without a large area to really get some breathing room.

Others may think higher but I'm using my local market in Colorado and it's pretty hot here for audio overall.

If you have other pieces of can snag I'd love to know what is available. I can also give you an idea if you have any other questions about that too.

I would say 500 - 600 also, not knowing if they work or seeing the condition...
They are great but big and hard to sell, less if not in good shape.

I was playing it safe with the wife and decided to not offer on the Bozak speakers but ended up grabbing 6 TTs, a couple amps, a couple boomboxes, and some other stuff (wife not happy--can't win for losing!). Honestly, I'll bet the Bozaks are sitting on the curb right now as that guy just did not give a hoot. I should prolly drive by and check.

You know there is such a thing as grabbing them, even if you've no plans to keep them, and move them on to someone who wants them and/or has the room or understanding wife. It keeps perfectly good audio equipment from ending up in the weather or at the landfill, and could potentially make someone's day/week/year. Nobody wins if this stuff hits the trash.

No, I have not been by. I would love to grab them just to pass along but I'm on thin ice with the wife in regards to collecting, tied up programming, and drive a charger so I'm out-reaching to a couple locals to check but no luck so far. PM me for details if you can reach the panhandle.

There are probably 10-12 TTs in different stages of restoration, several other sets of speakers, 8 track players, RTRs (million or so miles worth of 1/2" and 1/4" tape), amps, and a ton of parts for everything, as well.
