Bozak B-4000 Value?

Beemerdoc

Grumpy Old Fart
Hey folks,
I have a line on a fairly nice pair of 1971 Bozak B-4000s.
The seller hasn't priced them, and is looking to me to give him an offer that is not low ball. They seem to be all over the board price wise from the bay to the other sites.

They seem to be original, and cabs are in decent shape. Not posting the link so I remain in the game until I have made a decision one way or the other. No offence to any resident flippers, I just want the best deal I can get without a lot of competition.

Thanks!

Seller knows what he has. These look to be custom cabs loaded with bozak drivers. I would throw out a 500.00 offer...

Show up with cash in hand and be the first there. Check them out thoroughly, every driver, then make him an honest, but fair offer on condition. Most often, you will come home with them for a good price.

Well, I shot a first offer of 400, and apparently pissed him off, but yet he still didn't counter.
The saga continues.....I'll wait and see where he is. I'm willing to do better if he is actually open.

I hope he isn't one of those that believes all the bay asking prices. That just isn't reality when selling local.

$400-$600 with B-200Y drivers, I paid $750 for mint 1980 Classic Symphonies with the coveted Zc tweeters a year ago.

1971 should have a contingent of good drivers if they are all functional. If the crossover has not been rebuilt since original, it will need to be so you can use that in your negotiations. Maybe even covers over the mids.

I recently picked up a set. I have about $625 value invested, i traded an amp, and that included delivery from about an hour away ( i drive a sedan ). I feel that is fair, given the condition, B200y tweets, and B800a midrange. I really like them!

He hasn't responded. I am thinking HE"S the flipper, and I knew more than the average Joe.

Oh well, another opportunity will come along some day.
