No, you need a B209b. Try to get one with a date code in the same range. Also need to check impedance. Not sure if the B209b came in both 8 and 16 ohm versions. There usually is a steady supply of them on eBay. What is wrong with yours?

Thank you sir, I have seen b209b's in the 16 ohm versions on ebay but not the 8 ohm . I was also told that you cannot enterchange a 16 ohms from the original 8 ohm. Is the b209a 8 ohm a suitable replacement. Thanks again

What is the impedance you need. What system is it going in and what are the nubers and date code on yours?

b209b

Mine are 8 ohm. the model is b-4000 symphonies date 68/11. hope this helps, and thank you very much. John

Oh, the early Symphonys used a version of the B800 but the x-over point is different and most who have experience with both prefer the B209 midrange in the Symphony. Oh, BTW, nice speakers - been using a set from '68 as my main system speakers for the last 8 years or so and love them. Also, own a set of 302s.

Brian they, b209b, were both non operational when I bought them, but the tweets and woofers are great. I have recapped 1 speaker and will do the other 1 soon. I am also reveneering the cabs. Having a very difficult time finding b209b's and any replacement options. Thanks so much for your help.
