Bozak E-300 Century

arranb

Arranb
I have this wonderful pair of Bozak speakers and want to upgrade them. They don't have the midrange or crossover. It's hard finding the Bozak stuff so I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on what speakers I should put in the blank spots and what to do about a crossover? Can I make a crossover? If so how do you do? I will say I love theses speakers how they are but am always looking for ways to make things better.

Thanks in advance!

Bozak mids and crossovers are very easy to make, use the Bozak 104T crossover schematic and make sure you have Y tweeters. Not the 101T. I have the 104T somewhere on another computer.

With the upgrade, it is the model 302a. This is the core configuration for every Bozak model up the line. Only the number of drivers differs.

I picked up these Bozak tower speakers today and was thinking I could use them to upgrade my e300 century speakers. Is that a good idea or should I leave them as is and find a way to incorporate them into my living room? there kinda heavy and awkward. They have 10 speakers in each one. Two are B209bc and Eight are B200yc. Can I use the B209bc to convert me e300's to e302's? I was thinking that and then maybe taking the rest of the speakers out and making amore manageable box for them. Let me know your thoughts guys! Thanks!

well I thought i'd give it a try and see how they sound...WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!
Does anyone know how to adjust speaker channel a and b differently? One of the larger bazoak's on the e300 century's popped at one point and I think the bass was to much. Is it a bad speaker or is the crossover bad? I gently pushed in and out on the voice coil and it's very smooth. Still learning on this stuff. thanks guys. Oh I'm running theses on a pioneer sx-1250.

You can use those to upgrade your speakers, just make sure you build a Tobin 104T crossover to go with them.

What's the impedance rating of those B200Yc tweeters?

As long as they're the proper parts (if memory serves, the B207 setup uses a pair of 16ohm B200Yc tweeters wired together for 8ohm operation), and the B209Bc mids are 8ohm, then you can use those to upgrade your E300 cabinets, and can sell the extra tweeters for some cash. Under the circumstances, I'd consider looking for a pair of B199c woofers so you have a matching set of ceramic-magnet drivers.

The tower systems are rare and pretty good on their own. I would not gut them unless the set are trashed and from the photos they do not look it.

B-200-y tweeters 8ohms
B-207-b woofer 8ohms
B-209bc mids 16ohms

This is what I have to work with. Will this be ok with the 104t?

thanks

Well I guess I'll just throw theses away then. For some reason I thought I had something good here. Oh well. Damn

No need to throw anything away. Those parts are very useable in other systems. If you don't want to keep the columns together, sell the parts on eBay and use the proceeds to buy the mids and tweeters to rebuild the E300s.

So there's no way to make theses work? Are they really 16 ohm mods or does the sticker just say that because there were two of them wired together? They ohmed out at 12 ohms.

I am confused. Which set do you not like and why. Do not drive the towers to high volumes levels with the others. The towers will take far more power and the others will likely blow. The towers were made specifically for high power applications such as bands.

Do not throw. Any away. Advertise them locally and likely someone will pick them up.

The paired tweeters in the B207 are wired in parallel: two 16 ohm tweeters gives you an 8 ohm pair.

B-200-y tweeters 8ohms
B-207-b woofer 8ohms
B-209bc mids 16ohms

So then the B-209bc mids are wrong? I have a total of four of them. What if I modify my box and install two of the B-209bc mids and wire them in parallel and build the 104t (which I just received the parts today that I ordered yesterday from parts express) also why do I need different tweeters? The tweeters say 8ohms on them. the mids say 16ohms. But the mids are out of the towers and are those wired in series to make 8 ohms? I'm also confused.

Which tweeters are in the current 300-series cabinets? If they're B200Y or B200Z, you're fine. If they're B200X, you'll be much happier upgrading them.

I guess you could do that with two mids, but you might end up with a weird response curve.

B207B is actually the woofer/tweeter/frame combination. The woofer alone is a B199.
