From what I understand the baffleplate could be custom made to what ever driver arrangement the customer wanted. My cg's are factory customs that are mirror imaged with front mounted drivers and 2 woofers per side instead of the normal 4 per side. I can't imagine the need for the extra tweeters. If it was me I'd be wanting less.
Are the places where the other woofers there but blanked off? Bozak had build up kits to give you the cabinet you want on a budget Sounds like you have the CG populated as a Symphony. The most common of this is the model 300 upgraded toa 302a. The 16 tweeter CG would be a mod as none came stock with that many tweeters.
Why were all those drives rear mounted like that? Every single one is behind the 3/4" motorboard.
Those tweeters look like they are buried in a trough... :scratch2:
That's just how Bozak did it on their tweeter line arrays.
It seems like there would be more of an issue with the narrow channel for the tweeters, rather than the larger mid and woofer openings.

Well, that's what got me wondering. I've been dealing with the woofers and mids on the B302As, and those struck me as unusual, but to see all those tweeters really got to me.![]()

Here's the aforementioned Bozak Hemidome:

I have one in my lowboy CG.
Check out the old mono-era CGs with the hemispherical tweeter array
Hey, hope you don't mind me jumping in here - but I have been trying to figure out what I bought:Oddball custom Bozaks are certainly not unheard-of, though.

These may be Bozak "custom-made" units or they may be "knock-offs". They have (4) 12" woofers, (2) 5 1/4" mids and the hemispherical tweeter array in each box (all Bozak brand). Theses also have a Jensen super tweeter installed. The front covers are not removable. I know these were made in the early 60's.
