Bozak Tweeter question DMS5500

I have a pair of Bozak DMS5500 speakers and one of the Tweeters is blown. I'm trying to get it (or them) replaced and all I can find is a VIFA D26TG-09, and the one not working is a VIFA D26TG-05. does anyone know the difference between the two, and can I use them in my speakers? Or can I buy just one and keep the other in place? Thanks,

If you will google the model number you will see there are some pre-owned ones on E-bay and other web sites. The or has adequate sensitivity and power handling, but I would be concerned if the crossover frequency and slope are adequate to protect the 05 tweeter. Check specs at Madison Sound. I buy things from them quite often. As I remember I think the 09 tweeter was 2 db more efficient. But that shouldn't be an issue. But I would buy a matching pair making it easier to insure everything is balanced and sound the same. A grand with 4 woofers was rated at 94 to 95 db 4 ft 1 watt. But a 313 was rated at between 90 and 91 db at 4ft. So having a tweeter with 92 db sensitivity at 1 meter should be almost perfect.

Thanks you for the helpful information and I will go ahead and buy a pair of the D26TG-09. I agree to make sure you have evenly balanced sound. YOur knowledge seems quite rich with these types of categories and issues. I'll give it a try and let you know my results! Have a great weekend!

I have owned B-313's B4000, and own B-4005 and B-410's. Installed them, too, in addition to 302's, 305's 310, and even knew of a 400 used in a mono system. We stopped handling Bozak as a dealer when Near bought the company. We sold their professional Column speakers too. I modified over 20 pair of symphonies by adding super tweeters as I did to my Grands and 4005's that I now use for a 7.0 HT system. I have installed Bozak systems in Panama City, Honduras, Mexico as well as all over New Mexico and West Texas. I was not so fond of the Z tweeters preferring silk domed tweeters like you will be using. I use Celestion Tweeters that B&O used in their 5700 and M-90 speakers. Today I would probably use Morel except the best models are very very expensive and are not efficent enough so you would have to tri amp. Here's a picture from back in the early 70's.
