Brands that have maintined a charactoristic for decades

Which audio brands have maintained a defining characteristic for decades? For example, Klipsch speakers are high efficiency with horn tweaters and have been for decades. Bang and Olufsen means modern style and aesthetic design. NAD is and has been a spartan design at a moderate price. McIntosh is unmistakable in build quality and design over decades of products.

Which brands have no connection to their legacy products? To me Marantz, Yamaha, Harmon Kardon and Polk of today have nothing in common with their 1970s and 80s products.

What are other examples?

I believe the poster means manufactures of today that kept true to their beginnings,correct?not really sure any manufacture fits that profile anymore.klispch has its junk too.i don't think the a-s line of Yamaha integrated amps have to take a back seat to anybody.good looks,build quality ,performance .

sansui and fisher are just shadows of their former selfs.i looked also and found squat for new sansui.lots of guys are missing the point I believe.by reading the first post he,s asking about companies that have kept up the legacy to today such as mcintosh.
