Brasil 2014

I was a little concerned when Löw chose to replace proven goal-scorer Miroslav Klose with the baby-faced Götze (admittedly a great, but less experienced player). I guess Joachim proved he knew a bit more about football and his team than I do. Go figure.:scratch2:

Argentina was defeated by the German, German Version of Justin Beaver!.....:D

This was one of the best WCs I have ever seen.....Congratulations to Germany......

Til 2018............

I think with Germany's current emphasis on their youth leagues/academies feeding into the Bundesliga, they in pretty good stead for the future. Even though England has a stronger league, many of its great players are imports and not homegrown.

Mario Gotze :thmbsp: ...It was an awesome goal and a great coach's decision! ...Just right on for the World Cup Win. :tresbon:

Daang....same crap everywhere I guess....:thumbsdn:

The celebrations were all in all very very YERY peaceful. Anyway there are always people who try to pollute other's happiness.

The pictures show the airplane bringing our team back home. The plane flew (with a special permission) over more than 400000 fans at the Brandenburg gate before landing. The pilot even did swing with the wings a bit, this was a breathtaking scene!!!

Yes, very nice celebrations:

BTW, same thing happen in Buenos Aires: peaceful spontaneous, family celebrations of the second place but the press only mentions the violence of a small group of hooligans (100 people out of 100.000 or 200.00,mostly families with children). There is politics behind this, as the people who caused the violence are identified and associated to politicians in the opposition. Same thing happened in Brazil. there is no spontaneous violence, everything is planned as far as I am concerned. In Brazil there are presidential elections in Spetember and in Argentina next year. http://www.buenosairesherald.com/article/164609/berni-blames-hooligans-over-violence

Yes the Gaucho thing! Very funny, we all like it. Some mocking of course, but anyway in general deep respect for Argentina, and that is the crux of the biscuit...!

Thank you so much for your comments Guillermo on the overstress issue by the media of some negative incidents. Millions and millions have been celebrating peacefully in the pubs and streets in Germany (and Argentina) since last Sunday night but some AK members rather like to "celebrate" the few ugly things that happened. Pity.
