Braun Germany

I picked up a pair of Braun L200 speakers, and I really like the way they sound (for a small speaker) It seems very difficult to find info on Braun speakers. Were they made by A/D/S? These do say "made in Germany". I find it very strange these have speaker wire coming out of them, but no terminals. Why would anyone design a speaker this way?

IIRC ADS was an offshoot of braun and a name that was adopted to produce the product in the USA

We often think serious big kid speakers have some manner of terminals on the back, not just a wire hanging out, but these arent the first Ive seen with the wire coming from Europe.. I have a big pair of Telefunken 3 ways that have a wire, no terminals.

I picked up a pair of ADS a few weeks ago in the same configuration. They are amazing little speakers.
Mine have replaced woofers though.

Right now I'm using the Fisher 600. When I use these little guys I run it with a JBL Sub I have, they sound huge. I really don't use them much but I love ADS and couldn't pass them up at the thrift store for $9.00.

AFAIK, all the Fisher tubed receivers have output transformers with taps for 4, 8 and 16 ohm speakers.

My own recollection was that Analogue/Digital Systems was an American firm that at first imported Braun-labeled speakers and then later imported Braun speakers labeled "A/D/S." In any case, Braun made some truly wonderful big speakers, incl. my brother's self-powered L1040 or the like [at 66, my memory circuits are not so sharp as they once were...] and the incredibly "musical" 910, with its stand that allowed one to tilt the speaker at whatever angle worked best in one's listening room, and its two 10" woofers, dome midrange [I think], and dome tweeter. GORGEOUS-sounding speaker!
