I like the teak veneer used on some of the Brauns. Much more interesting than the € Walnut which seems devoid of much variation, grain and figuring.

Been hoarding over the years. Bought one pair of beat up Braun just because they had the stands.

Still have yet to refinish one set that is somewhat corroded. Ive made a post here on the correct paint for it as well.

While ebay may be no indication, they would bring 5-700 there. Not conjecture on my part, based on personal experience. While ebay is NO indication of what a local craigs sale price is, it IS an indication that there are others (perhaps only a few) who have preferred the Braun versions. I know, bigger isnt better...though here is a side by side of the braun vs. Ads mids anyway. Im sure thats not the reason why i prefer the mids in the braun though...

At that price someone is going to need to like them, but that can happen. Using the grilles most of the life of these speakers did keep the sticky domes clean. One reason I like the cloth grilles on the ads speakers.

Agreed they keep them clean. Since the top half of the dome takes on 5 times more dust than the bottom half (with other grills) ive turned the drivers upside down...they sound much better then when i am standing up that way Main drawback ive heard in the tweed though is that its much thicker than ADS black, and not exactly "accoustically transparent" Though would look great next to an old guitar amp

I've only seen one pair of Brauns come up on CL here in over five years. A/D/S definitely more often but I wouldn't call them common in the for sale section.

We appear to have differing thoughts on the average forum member.

Being on the east coast where ADS speakers are quite a bit more prevalent may be affecting the resale value. In my neck of the woods I guarantee those would have been gone within the first couple days for around $275-$300.

We had a pair of A/D/S 810s for $325 on CL here up for over a month.
