Hello my friends!
I just found an old Braun Phono-Super 960W and I'm trying to repair it.
I'm talking about this turntable:

Does anyone have the same device?
Can you please post a picture from right underneath the turntable?
I need to see the mechanism (belt, pulley, motor etc) that rotates the record because I'm kind of stuck and don't know what's wrong and how to fix it.

Can'y say as I've ever had the chance to see one of these, but it looks like a very cool project!
 
I would bet that there's no belt, its an idler drive, so a rubber tire transfers motion from the motor to the platter.
I've had no experience with that tt whatsoever, but the general way things go is remove the spindle (maybe rotate and pull up, maybe just pulls up not sure) then see if there is a C clip or similar that retains the platter, if there isnt one or its been removed, then the platter should pull straight up and off. Now..this stuffs old and has been together for a long time so I wouldn't expect it all just to fall apart, it may take some penetrating oil and or some judicious heat to get things to budge so be careful and dont get violent. Hopefully someone with more experience with these chimes in, as maybe the spindle isnt removable at all, but in the case of later idlers, this is the case.Anyway, the platter needs to come off as the idler and motor pulley is under there and its one place you need to be.
As for pulling the whole tt out of the case, the 2 silver screws at 12 and 6 would be transport/mount screws. I would try spinning them in one direction or another and see if it gets to a point where they are loose and can tip head away from spindle, part you cant see in towards the spindle. If that happens you should be able to lift the entire tt out of the case. Otoh, maybe those screws just thread up and out, there again, the former is the case in later idler drive tt's.
As for whats wrong with it...my guess would be hardened grease in the mechanism, a rubber idler wheel thats no longer pliable/in one piece/smooth and a gummed up motor. So that would likely be clean and relube eveything including the motor and replace the idler ( you may be able to save the one you have, but I wouldnt count on it).
Here is hoping that someone with more specific knowledge chimes in.
