Brian Wilson: No Pier Pressure

I am currently streaming this album via Tidal, listening on my Koss KV1a headphones.

If you like Brian Wilson, or the Beach Boys, this is a very nice, easy album to listen to. Nothing really dramatic so far - just smooth vocals, simple rhythm and beats. Many guest artists are featured on this record. The recording is very nice, which can be expected of Mr. Wilson.

I am a bit of a fan, especially considering how much of a pioneer he has been in so many areas of music. I really like his studio work from an engineering standpoint. His songwriting is also really good, and no one does multitrack harmonies better.

Same impression for me. I'll consume for awhile longer, and I'm sure the gems will emerge.

I met Brian in 1989 at Tower on Sunset as he did an in-store promoting his first solo LP. He looked frazzled from meeting his public, so I didn't attempt an impromptu interview. :D

Brian is a legend and will always be my favorite musician/producer.
