Brian Wilson turns 70 today!

Happy Birthday Brian! The Beach Boy who was expected to die first (due to his erratic lifestyle) is the sole survivor among his musical brothers! His story is the amazing saga of how a person, in Brian's case, with the use of expensive help, turned a history of self-indulgence and self-imposed exile into one of clean living and a productive existance. For someone who has always been viewed as eccentric at best, he's beaten the odds and nowadays everything he touches turns to gold. Once again, here's wishing Brian Wilson a Happy 70th Birthday! Your fans love you!:thmbsp:

Who knew? Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney (18 June 1942) turn 70 two days apart!

You keep going guys, love your work!

First time I saw Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys in concert (Sacramento, CA), was in 1963.....jeez, almost 50 years ago!!??

Congrats to Brian Wilson on a long and productive career!!

I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Brian for a backstage interview during his 2004 solo tour. He was an absolute gentleman, very gracious and polite -- everything we hear that pop culture icons so often are not. I grew up a huge fan of the Beach Boys' music and came away with a greater appreciation of the hard work and dedication behind it. Brian was kind enough to sign a couple of my BB LPs which, of course, I will never ever sell. Happy birthday, Mr. Wilson -- we're all very glad you are doing well.

Happy Birthday Mr. Wilson.
And thanks for all the great tunes!
Girls, cars, surfing. Truly the sounds of summer.

I met him in 1989, he was signing his newly minted solo LP at Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, since closed of course. I sold my autographed Brain Wilson and Pet Sounds (hard times) and totally regret it. As a musician, I look up to Brian for tons of inspiration. I don't know how many times I've been in a studio grasping for ideas and asked myself, "What would Brian Wilson do?" or totally cop a Brian production technique, or a songwriting device. His influence on me could fuel ideas for a whole album or 2 at least.
