Bright red speaker fabric?

I'm redoing some pioneer HPM 100s and an looking for some bright red (think Georgia Bulldogs) speaker fabric of a comparable weight/thickness to use on the grills. Any recomendatins? Has anyone done something similar?

I'd even be open to building new frames and doing a JBL-like foam front end;)

Check out Huntley Audio on eBay; they have some awesome red fabric. I think it would look terrific.

There is some red speaker cloth available at Amazon. But, if you want something similar to GA Bulldogs colors, you might have to use regular fabric, maybe you can find "spacer fabric", and at time of using the speakers take the grills off.

Huntley has the red fabric I'm after!

So next question - any specific technique involved in putting the new fabric on? It seems like pioneer just stapled the crap out of it! I'm considered just building new frames given the sheer amount of staples Id have to pull...

I have seen stapled and/or glued (contact cement).

Suggest going to the local Fabric Emporium. Hunt up "jersey" fabrics Stretchy thin stuff in a *many* colours.
Pick a Red you like and pay the Very Few $ required.
Yess It makes for Very Good Grille Cloth.
Better than Most of the stuff sold as Speaker cloth for greedy prices.
Have Fun.. Colour is Good.

Decided to go with huntley for the bright red... I'm actually going to send the grills in to be done since I literally have like 18,000 other projects happening right now. Talked to Steve via email and he was extremely friendly and very helpful!

Randomly - is there a graceful way to remove these things:

The staples? I use a small flat-bladed screwdriver or prying tool and gently pry them out, bit by bit, working around them, trying not to dent the wood, but there's probably a better way ...

Also, Post #6 I posted a video link, it shows how to take pry them off.

Sorry guys - I meant the plastic piece that holds the grill to the speaker...

Ohhhh...You mean the nipple insert, depends on how it is installed, yours seemed to be glued, so pry with care using a flat spatula. Might be molded in, then forget about it. Or, might be screwed, so try turning counterclockwise.

They spin freely when turned but don't back out... I Can try gently prying sideways and see if they give at all.

Not sure why you would want to remove them at all unless you are intending on replacing them. If anything, I would glue them in place so they don't spin or rattle when driving the speaker hard.

If it is a shipping concern, just hit up home depot or lowe's for some 1" thick Styrofoam sheet insulation and "mount" them into holes in the Styrofoam when you pack them, so the pegs don't get damaged in transit.

paint the whole thing... If they pop out easily I'd prefer remove them to paint everything evenly. I suppose I can just mask around them...

The round female ones that the grills mount to on the surface of the speaker will definitely have to come out so I can refinish all of that! So I'm hoping that's not a complicated process.

Anyone using magnets for holding the grill on? I came across a few different companies and it looks like a might scuttle the plastic pieces on the face of the speaker (female grill attachment jacks) if I pull them out for refinish and to veneer face over them... I was considering new grill cover pegs on the speakers face and on the grills. I can probably fill the old holes and redrill to retrofit almost anything. Any suggestions for some nice ones?

Those are the ones I'd been looking at... anyone have any actual pics? I wonder if I can pop out the existing plastic guides on the grill covers and on the front of the speakers and put these directly into the holes?

I'm planning on veneering the front of the speakers as well to cover the black part so I have to pop the existing speaker guides on the face of the speaker out to do that...

Something like this.. although the poster here removed the speaker guides altogether. I want the option to keep mine:
