Brigitte bardot picture discs...

Well, just to keep in the spirit of where this thread has headed, here is a more recent picture of Linda Ronstadt...

... and two pictures of the once-delectable Diana Rigg, a.k.a. Emma Peel of the Avengers. What these pics don't show is that for a while in middle-age, Ms. Rigg expanded to a somewhat ENORMOUS size, quite the opposite of the svelte, youthful figure that gave so many youngsters hairy palms and guilty minds. I can't find a pic online of her in the "fat" days, but I saw her then, and oh, man, was it a shock! Always a gracious and talented woman, though.

They say you can never go back. I suspect it works for people, just as much as it does for times and places.

...and one more: Dawn Wells, a.k.a. Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island, when arrested for possession of marijuana at age 69. And does anyone have any good PICTURE DISCS to share? :D

The alternative is worse....

Time is an abstract concept created by carbon-based lifeforms to monitor their ongoing decay.

And let us not forget Xaviera Hollander, the author of "The Happy Hooker"

Then:

Now:

Age sure isn't flattering! :tears:

Bridget Bardot, the original "sex kitten" (in my lifetime anyway). Didn't she play Lolita?
I believe she's a heavy duty animal rights activist now.

Ya, there ain't no beatin' Father Time.

Funny, she probably could have had some work done but chose not to. She's goin' out au natural I guess.

We haven't had a picture disc thread for a while. Attached are pics of some picture discs that happen to feature Brigitte Bardot, someone at least some of us older fogeys will remember well. I found these pics online; I don't own any of these. (:sigh: ...yet! :D )

Anyone have these?
Collect them?
Know how many were issued?
Do you have pics of others besides these?

While these might not be the best thing to put up in a married man's "mancave" :nono:, a single guy might find worse decorations. :D

Feel free to broaden this thread to other artists (besides the ubiquitous Madonna and David Bowie) who issued multiple picture discs, or your favorite/most decorative picture discs.

A few more...

I remember an excellent record store on Newbury Street that had these for sale, along with Serge Gainsbourg stuff, and Russ Meyer records featuring not Russ Meyer, but those chest-inflated starlets he was fond of.

My guess time-wise was a re-issue around the mid-90s to late 90s.

But this is just a guess.

And that record store closed a few years back due to spiraling rates of rent in Boston.

Geez, you guys are picky, Linda, Diana, Bridget, I'm here for you if you need me.

I'll take pics of my picture disks later.

OK Gentlemen- At least those who have been knowing our wives/mates for over 40 years. Do we see less of the beauty today than we did decades ago? We have to redifine beauty. Can she still cook and bring me breakfast in bed!!!!!

If that's really Dawn Wells then she's finally aged ........ the last pictures I had seen of her, while obviously older than "Mary Ann" she still looked fantastic.

Huh?

Can she still cook and bring me breakfast in bed!!!!!

Your wife cooks and brings you B-fast in bed???

OK mine will cook when she's not yelling at the children and the dog....:D

(I still Love you Dear...how many women would put up with Model 19's in their dining room, and gear all over the house....:thmbsp:)

What was it Ben Franklin said about older women? How he loved them because they are so appreciative of any attention you might give them....

Look at it this way. An old and dusty bottle might have a faded and torn label, but that's no indication of the quality of the wine inside....:thmbsp:

My wife and I are in our fifties and her beauty still takes my breath away. When I see an old picture of her I see the face of an angel and beauty that can't be described. I know, I know, we all feel that way about our wives!

That being said during the 70's I would have climbed Everest in speedos to spend time with Linda Ronstadt. However, thank God for the wisdom that comes with age and the passing of time. Now that I know her politics and see her recent pictures I realize what a young fool I was!

Let's see more pictures of Bridget! Don

I must be old 'cause I'll still take Linda...I like a woman with some meat on her bones!:thmbsp:

Used to have a TON of picture discs...sadly, had to sell em' to buy gas to hunt for jobs between radio gigs. That's where my Beatles "butcherblock" went, too. (The $300 for that DID come in handy, though.)
That being said...Ms. Bardot was QUITE the dish back in the day. And, say what you will....the lovely Linda is still quite fetching. Can't beat those pipes, either.

I think that it's time for The Beautiful South's

Prettiest Eyes

Line one is the time
That you, you first stayed over at mine
And we drank our first bottle of wine
And we cried

Line two were away
And we both, we both had nowhere to stay
Well the bus-shelters always ok
When you're young

Now youre older and I look at your face
Every wrinkle is so easy to place
And I only write them down just in case
That you die

Lets take a look at these crows feet, just look
Sitting on the prettiest eyes
Sixty 25th of Decembers
Fifty-nine 4th of Julys
Not through the age or the failure, children
Not through the hate or despise
Take a good look at these crows feet
Sitting on the prettiest eyes

Line three I forget
But I think, I think it was our first ever bet
And the horse we backed was short of a leg
Never mind

Line four in a park
And the things, the things that people do in the dark
I could hear the faintest beat of your heart
Then we did

Now youre older and I look at your face
Every wrinkle is so easy to place
And I only write them down just in case
You should die

Lets take a look at these crows feet, just look
Sitting on the prettiest eyes
Sixty 25th of Decembers
Fifty-nine 4th of Julys
You can't have too many good times, children
You can't have too many lines
Take a good look at these crows feet
Sitting on the prettiest eyes

Well my eyes look like a map of the town
And my teeth are either yellow or they're brown
But youll never hear the crack of a frown
When you are here
You'll never hear the crack
Of a frown

***

Age, can be beautiful.

Ah, one of the things I love about my wife the most. She let's me put whatever I want up in the Mancave. I do try to keep it tasteful. these would be awesome indeed in there. I'd put them right next to my vintage Bathing Beauty pics. :D
