Does anybody know what other Marantz selector shafts will fit in a 2325 model with 6-positions 5 clicks.Ebay is not coming up with anything on selector switch donors for a 2325 only.Don't want to epoxy old one

If you have 2-3 mm of shaft sticking out of the chassis, it is possible to get a pretty strong repair if you spend some time with it. I repaired a broken shaft on a 2270 input selector switch a few years ago, and it is still holding up. Check this thread out and see if you think you have enough shaft to work with.
2270 mode selector

Yea Steve the shaft is broke off flush with face of switch body.I do not have the other half of shaft any way.Steve I saw your your thread on that great idea.

That’s too bad. Hope you find a donor somewhere. I dreaded the thought of changing that shaft out without messing up the stack of wafers. I know it’s done, but it looks like there are more ways to fail than to succeed with that operation. Good luck!

There are two different variations of the actual selector switch shaft.
Let's see a pic of yours.
If you have steady hands then pulling the broken shaft out of the wafers and carefully inserting the donor is the way to go.
It beats the daunting task of unsoldering a bizillion wires by a mile!

This is one example of a 6 position...

Hey Bob how do you distinguish the two shafts apart. By shaft length, A 2325 serial #.I was told that a 2250 selector shaft might work.Your top photo looks very much like mine that is still in unit pushed out of mounting hole for ready for shaft interchange There were two shaft that were broken on unit when I purchased it.I followed your shaft replace thread and replaced the mode selector shaft already. And that was bad enough to do. It only had a billion wires.I will try in the morning to free it up better from the other wires to pull it out further for a pic. Thanks Steve and Bob for your help

If one does show up on eBay it will probably sell quickly depending on price. I listed one a couple of months ago and it sold with in minutes. If you can get your broken one to be usable again I recommend that.

Thanks for heads up A.C.But does anybody know what interchanges with a 2325 6-function 5-click selector shaft. Says am,fm,phono,aux,tape1,tape2 on marantz faceplate.

I looked on HiFi engine for a switch part number but the service manual they have is lacking a lot of information. If you can find the part number you might be able to determine if that switch is used in other Marantz receivers .

2240/2250/2265/2275/2285/2325 and 2330 all have 6 position selector switches and possibly a few others.
You also need it to be 5 wafer so the shaft length matches up.

PM if you need more info.

Bob

This was pulled from a 2325 destroyed in shipping.
Left is Dolby switch
Center is Selector switch
Right is Mode switch

As you can see they have different wafer counts .

Hey Bob have a couple pics of mine hope they turned out.My selector resembles your middle selector pic.Bob would you be interested parting ways with it.I hope Grumpy not looking.and many thanks again for all your help A.C. and Bob. Looks like many 6 position 5 wafer options on other Marantz receivers. Thanks Bob

Well I received a donor selector switch and mission accomplished.I did my shaft transplant a little different.I removed 1 of the 2 long selector switch screws on the closes side to me bottom of unit.Took the front little spacer out reversed screw and spacer put it in the opposite way nut to front where shaft assembly comes out.The front spacer which is on the back outside of switch NOW tighten up assembly again nut is where front spacer was.Now that side is tight again freeing up metal shaft assembly on that side to be pulled out after you take apart other side.I took a wood Skewer with a minute bit of vaseline and reached in the best I could and put a bit on spacers to kinda hold them in place better. Then I pulled that screw out and broken off shaft assembly with it.I replaced with donor shaft and screw with all spacer in place.CAREFULLY work screw through all spacers .I used needle nose to put the little lock washer and nut back on again tighten into the wire freeway side. Then pull the other screw out STOP right BELOW where front spacer go's back this will secure the other spacers from falling out.Slide front spacer back in place. Then put screw in back the way it should go chasing out the other reverse screw holding spacers in place. I put L.washer and nut back on by hand. I think I will never buy a Marantz 40 anything (QUAD) to restore with broken shafts way to many wires. Also would like to thank again Audio Crazy and Bob, Love that black faceplate
