Broken wire

This is a photo of my x-100. The white wire shielding with a blue stripe has a very small, 24 gauge bare wire and a white covered 22 gauge wire going to the on/off switch. The bare wire is broken by the switch and I cannot determine where it originally connected. I took a photo of the other end.
My amp is playing but I feel ( hope) it will play better with all connections complete. I understand Avery Fisher usually had a reason for his circuits.

I think it's designed that way. It's for shielding and (technically) only needs grounded at one end.

The white/blue is one channel and the black/yellow is the other channel. Look closely and you'll noticed it's bare shield wire was also snipped.

I've also encountered Fisher amps with both ends connected to ground. If your not having (hum) issues, I'd leave it that way.

Yup. That’s a drain/shield wire acting like an antenna, grabbing errant waves and sending them to ground. It’s part of the design.
