Bryston 12b Pre - heat and maintenance

After selling off some hoarded gear, i have been lucky enough to get my hands on some high end separates from the past.

As the power amp has already been taken care of and works great, it is time to focus a bit on the Bryston preamp.

It is my posession since february, and it always apeared to run warm/hot. Now that the weather reaches above 30° C on a regular basis, the top of the amp reaches temp. of about 45°C - it is aprox as hot as the heatsinks of the power amp (threshold s 150).

Are other users of Bryston preamps observing the same behaviour, and is this normal or not. I suspect this is normal as the case has no ventilations.

Another question would be, if it is recommended to recap the unit, and maybe replace other components (due to ageing and/or upgrade)?

Nobody has or had this pre on the entire forum?
Anyway did a recap, and next I will replace the rca connectors, as some are a somewhat pushed in, an a few even came loose. Currently on order from Mouser.
The next thing that I want to tackle is a loud crackle/pop on power on and off (not needed on a day to day basis, as i always turn everything on befire the power amp), but still not liking it. The muting seems to work fine, as the power light is red for a few seconds but still makes a sound. Maybe just a deffective switch?
