Bryston 1B Preamplifier Issues…. Help!

I recently acquired a Bryston 1B preamp to pair with My Bryston 4B Amp.
I’m having issues with the “Main In” Right Channel RCA connection on the preamp.
I have to wiggle or put pressure on the RCA cable (which is new) to get sound out of the right channel.
Any suggestions?

Good chance there are broken solder joints from the RCA jacks to the PCB.

What is the level of your expertise because at the very least, you are going to have to open it up and inspect the solder connections to the circuit board.

I'll agree with Ray as this has happened soo many times when they are being moved or connected or disconnected.

I’m pretty tech savvy, and I did open it up but not to the other side of the circuit board where I might be able to see that.
I guess I need to go into a deeper dive to give that a check.

Just in case it helps anybody else, I have a 12B from 1986, and it has a similar problem with bad contacts that is exhibited by wiggling or just touching the RCA cables. Eventually I opened it up and found that the problem is the jacks themselves, they wear, or stretch, or something, and the inner contact does not make good contact with the center pin of the RCA cable. Cleaning them did not help either. I am in the process of replacing all of them. Keystone 900 connectors seems to be a modern equivalent part number, available from both Mouser and DigiKey.
