Budget Amplifier to Pair with JBL 4311B's

Hello World,

I am looking to find an amplifier to power my newly acquired JBL 4311B's and was looking for recommendations for $500 or less. Of course at some point I would like to upgrade to something nicer but I want to enjoy my speakers and also have the expensive habits of collecting records and synthesizers.

I have found older threads on various sites recommending different mostly vintage amplifiers that used to run for $250 or less but now command over $1,000 or much more. I will not work require a phono preamp but ideally would have two sets of line level inputs. Tone controls or other frills are not particularly important to me and I am open to new or used models. Thank you for your time!

If I were in your position I would get a Schiit passive pre for a preamp. 2 inputs, 1 output, 1 volume control, no frills. Cheap and good. $50 new last I checked.

I would look at Adcom, Phase Linear, Carver or hafler for an amp. Or other similar amps. 100wpc or more. 20-20k hz, very low thd. There are many options.

You say you are looking for an amp, but then say tone controls or frills aren't necessary. I believe you are actually looking for an integrated amp. If this is the case I would suggest an Acurus DA-100 (100 WPC) or DA-150 (150WPC). Not common, but great units (I own the smaller unit).
Also, you may find a decent NAD integrated amp.
The previous suggestion is good for power amps.

Check out the Yamaha A-S501. It's a modern integrated amp that has everything you need and more. Brand new for $550.
