Budget blu ray player help

So I just got a new 85 inch Samsung,4k and all that stuff,but maybe won't matter to my question.
I'm looking for a player that plays dvds and bluray and maybe capable of playing HD cds or sacd discs,these not as important as quality picture and sound.
Trying to stay under 200.00

Chalk up another vote for the Sony X700. AFAIK it doesn't do HDCD. However, it does DVD's, Blu-ray's, 4K Ultra HD's, CD's and SACD's.

There is one caveat with the Sony. It has only HDMI and coax out. The HDMI is on two connectors. One is audio only.

Mine came from 220 Electronics. It was ~$200 when I bought it. They are currently available from Amazon for $188.

I don't worry to much about HDCD decoding. All of my CD's have been ripped to FLAC. When ripped the HD information is included in the rip. There is a plug in for HDCD decoding with my player of choice (MusicBee).

I usually play SACD's through the multi-channel analog outputs from a Denon DVD-1920 or a Yamaha DVD S-1800. The outputs go to the 5.1 inputs on an Emotiva UMC-200. The front channels of the UMC-200 are connected to the HT bypass on my two-channel preamp.

We bought an Xbox One S for under $200 new about a year and a half ago for that purpose...the ability to play 4k UHD Bluray discs. Figured it was cheaper than almost all of the stand alone players on the market, and we could dip our toes into video games. Turns out, we have no interest in video games, but it works fine as a player. Picked up a generic "media remote" for it rather than use the game controllers, and that works well, too.

There ARE articles decrying less than the best cutting edge reproduction when used as a 4k player compared to top of the line decks, but we have no complaints at all. Picture and Dolby Atmos/DTS:X/Dolby TrueHD tracks are all wonderful.
 
I've been an avid gamer since the 1980's (Commodore 64, Coleco Vision, Atari 2600 and 800). Currently I have an X-Box One, a Sony PS4 and a retro Nintendo box. I have a steering wheel w/gas and brake pedals for the X-Box. I've never tried CD's, SACD's or 4K discs with the X-Box. The need has never been there.

PC gaming is also important to me. I have a PC dedicated to gaming. It has Win10 and several TBs of storage along with a full flight simulator setup (joystick, weapons control stick, rudder pedals) for air combat.

Just nabbed the last one on Amazon for 137.00,used but good enough.
 
That Sony x700 looks like a no brainer to me too. Unlike phono preamp's where we have perhaps a dozen fine contenders, When it comes to Blu-ray players I think Sony pretty much has the market cornered.

I have the Sony s6200 Blu-ray player player in my rec room that does a decent job. I hope the 700 doesn't freeze up like my 6200 does sometimes though.

They make a much less expensive 6700 model too, but like my 6200 I don't think it plays 4k disc's. Mine upscale to 4k. I have no complaints about it performance of both picture and audio through.
