Budget bookshelf speaker question

Hi everyone!

So I am in the market for an introductory hi-fi level pair of bookshelf speakers with a budget up to $300ish.

Possible options:
B&W 600i- $100
B&W 602 S1 (2 if lucky on craigslist) $200-300
KEF Q10- $170
Dayton UA701CBK Usher Speaker Kit-320

DO you have any suggestions as to what I should get or if I should be looking out for something else?

Your possibilities are almost endless, and you will get a lot of opinions. I haven't heard the speakers you've listed, so I can't comment on them. I'm a big fan of PSB speakers and if you can find a pair of PSB Stratus Minis within your budget they would be worth checking out. I'm assuming you are looking at used speakers?
 
I had a pair of the B&W 602s3's that I really liked a lot but Kris is right...there are so many possibilities in this range.

That's good to know. If it were me I think I'd be looking at used. With your budget and some patience you should be able to find something really nice. Not that new speakers in your price range are bad, I'm sure there are plenty that sound great. You just have the potential to move up the ladder when you start looking at used.
Where are you located? I'm sure there are enough people reading this that could scour CL and give you some nice options.
