For those who do not use the Firefox browser, go to the next message.
Those who do, and who have not yet updated to the latest version, Firefox 22: DON'T DO IT.
There is an annoying bug in Firefox 22. Copying text to paste into a document or into an item in another program doesn't work well. It almost never works by using the Cut or Copy commands in the right-click drop-down menu. It works a little better, but still not always, by using the Copy command in the Edit drop-down menu from the toolbar.
What happens: if you select text in Firefox and right click, then choose Copy, or use Copy in the Edit drop-down menu, then try to paste the text into a document or E-mail or other composition window, the Paste command is greyed out and won't work.
Mozilla has acknowledged the problem but the only suggestion they have is to wait for Firefox 23, currently in development only; the version they have on their beta release channel DOES have the bug fixed. Another user has had success backdating Firefox to Version 21, which didn't have the problem.
The one way in which the Copy function is reliable is to use the good old MS-DOS command, Ctrl-C. I don't want to potentially mess things up by backdating and don't want to load a beta version, so for me, that will have to do for now.
