Just for fun, put together the best vintage system you can for about $300 from current CL listings in your city. Include a receiver, a pair of speakers, and a turntable w/cart.

Pretty slim pickings today March 5th, but here goes:

Speakers: Polk Audio Monitor 2's @ $125.00
Pioneer PL -55 Turntable @ $50.00

Total: $ 215.00

Their prices, not what I would offer or buy for. All in all, not bad I think....

Great start! Doesn't need to be today's listings, anything that's still listed is fair game. I just tried using the sfbay listings, too many choices, lots easier here in Sacto.

Can't do any better than the one I posted. The next decent vintage system would run around 500.00, if you switched out the Onkyo for a Pioneer sx 1050This was pretty fun. Thanks....
