The limiting factor for that sub would be the mass added to the PRs. When you go smaller with the box you have to go heavier on the passives. At some point you'll have enough weight to sag the PRs.

Ray's the expert here, but the box is built to specific internal volume dimensions based on the drivers, etc. Or something like that. I read it somewhere, forget where exactly.

I've seen a few subs with a single passive radiator, never two.

I'm greatly interested in this design approach. I wonder how hard the kit would be to modify for a 10" version or a 12" version....

I've been listening to my finished sub for the last few hours while working. I'm quite happy with the outcome. I'm using the sub with Monsoon satellites as part of my computer system. The bass is very tight, not boomy at all. I have it tucked away under my desk where it's enclosed on three sides (as well as above). This is bound to muffle the radiators. As far as computer systems go this setup is amazing. For a main system in a larger room you would need go with some larger drivers.
