Bullnose-style Large Advents, how common?

Looking at a pair of I THINK Large advents that need surrounds on the woofers. Pics show bullnose cabinets with grills that have a radius in the corners rather than being square, and owner says they're 26 in tall, but won't commit that they're the Large advent (one of those sellers that answer questions with 1-word answers).

I've read SOME OLAs had bullnoses, but can't really confirm that. Anyone?

Yes the OLA had a style of a bullnose,the NLA also had one too.

The OLA has a bevelled front trim, not a bullnose. Cabinet makers know that bullnose is a rounded trim. Unfortunately, vintage speaker buffs have taken to incorrectly calling the bevel trim on the OLA bullnose. The NLA has a bullnose cabinet, which is shown in r_brenett61's pic above.

The pic below shows my OLA with bevelled front trim. This is how they looked when I got them. They were refoamed and recapped and are now my garage speakers.

Unfortunately, vintage speaker buffs have taken to incorrectly calling the bevel trim on the OLA bullnose.

This came from the old Advent identifying thread. The beveled edge was called bullnose until I asked a mod to edit that thread (the OP is long gone from AK) and that was done. Too much work to go and edit the thread with new pictures but at least the beveled edge was no longer referred to on ak as bullnose in a popular identification thread.

The Advent Loudspeaker, it was never called original, was available in the rectangular, vinyl-veneered utility cabinet and the walnut veneered chamfered edge cabinet shown in Post 3 above.

The New Advent Loudspeaker was also available in the utility cabinet and the rounded edge walnut veneered cabinet shown in post 2.

They had different drivers, the woofer and tweeter with masonite in the Advent Loudspeaker (where we have decided to call the Original Large Advent, OLA). The NAL has black metal basket for the woofer and a metal plate for the tweeter. The speakers sounded very similar.

Thanks for your effort in correcting the record. Unfortunately, once something is up on the Internet, it becomes gospel, or at least it seems that way. Sadly, the incorrect info is still out there, as evidenced by the OP.

Because I did the deed, I did notice a drastic reduction in the incorrect comments about the chamfered speakers being called Bullnose. Yes, it is still out there, hell that thread was years old before it was corrected. But the occurrences are down significantly, now.

Sept 07 to Dec 18 (bases on last edit, I thought I mentioned it earlier than that,) is a long time to establish an internet fact.

That thread needs to be redone it has lots of missing pictures and such.

Glad to see the Advent thread was finally corrected. I mentioned the incorrect Bullnose identification a few times as far back as 2011. Would be great to get that thread updated top to bottom with some new pics.

Your right of course, about the Advent. But in my opinion many “Buffs” will persist in calling it a bullnose.

Aha! So the ones I'm looking at are the NAL, not the original.

I kind of glossed over the re-discussion about a previous posting(s) on this subject, so sorry if I committed a recurring faux-paus. I only referred to bullnose because that's what the pic looked like, and it WAS a bullnose, not chamfered.

I bought my NEW LA's in the summer of 1978 at Pacific Stereo in CA. Walnut with bullnose, those have defined for me the East Coast sound to which my ears are forever tuned. Still have 'em, refoamed, veneer mostly intact and grills are perfect. Excellent sound and well worth restoring
