But Brass doesn't rust???

I picked up a Fisher X202B integrated with what looks like original brass caps on all of the knobs.

Only issue is that some of them seem to have rusted.

I know brass does not rust, so . . . did Fisher use non-brass caps, or are these likely replacements?

They look like the original brass knobs that I found on my 400 (which only needed a cleaning in order to shine).

To be honest, I have not yet tried to clean them, but it certainly looks like rust.

Whaddyathink??:scratch2:

Probably corrosion. If so, it will polish off. Yours are almost certainly original.

Afaik, all of the available replacements are solid brass, except for Paul Grzybek's, and his are anodized aluminum so they won't rust either.

It's possible that they were against something rusty, too. I've seen rust transfers that took some scrubbing to remove.
