About 5 years ago we had an AR XB turntable. I was hoping to get some information on other brands of turntables if I cannot find an AR xB they seem to be quite hard to find. If anybody could help me out with some good vintage turntables equally comparable to the ARXB I would appreciate it, so would my husband this Christmas! Thanks!

Thorens are plentiful and should be something he would like if the AR was.

Wow, just checked eBay and sorta shocked what they're asking for these. Theres one you might want to keep an eye on to see what they're actually selling for.

Read her post again, she asked if there was something similar since she's having a hard time locating an AR XB. Maybe add something productive to the thread rather than just trying to start something with me.

I did. Why not suggest ways for her to find an AR XB first?
 
Look persistently is the only thing to do unless you get pointed directly to one. There are other forums with classified sections plus Canuck and/or US Audio Mart that might pan out.

To bad there wasn't more time. Xmas is not that far away.

Not out of convenience, only offering the help I had. If I knew where to find what she's looking for as easily as the Thorens, but I dont. Why not focus on helping the OP instead of trying to point out my help was a waste of time.

Maybe offer some other choices, maybe her budget includes a Linn Sondek LP12.

I found this AR XB on the bay looos to be in good working and cosmetic order with a BIN price , it could be sent to @marcmorin to get it back to like new condition and possibly upgrades if you wanted to go that route .
