C-26 Ground Screw Post

So I was hooking my turntable to my C-26pre-amp after moving it. I noticed the screw holding the crown/clamp & knurl, just found out that name today, was extremely tight. Apparently it was threaded incorrectly and now the screw was bent. Of course while attempting to extricate the screw it snapped in half. After going through a hundred or so screws I had lying around the house, i resigned myself to heading to the hardware store to buy a 1 inch # 32 screw to replace it. Perfect fit while threading the Knurl, there’s that word again and the crown. However the screw is loose in the entry threading of the ground on the back of the pre-amp. So no ability to ground a turntable.
The question is, in removing the bent screw did I accidentally remove a jacket of some sort which held the ground screw in place? If so it must be rolling around inside the pre-amp. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks, Stephen

Thanks Mr. Tinkster, I got the screw out but the new one won’t-thread into the Ground entry. I guess there was a nut on the inside that came off. I did not hear anything rattling around in there, I was just hoping to avoid having to open her up, to solve my problem.
 
Hi,
Open it you will see the screw and the nut that hold it. Is not complicated to tight it back,but you have to be sure there is nothing missing touching something else before you close the unit.
