C-26 vs 6100 as preamp

I have a MA-6100 that I'm very happy with but currently only use it as a preamp. I also have a line on a C-26 pre and was wondering if there are sonic differences. I know the C-26 has the variable loudness which is something that I would want, but other than that what would you think?

Here is a good history on the C26 from the design engineer, Roger Russell. Based on the production dates for both, one would think that they are substantially the same. But, as the MA6100 is not mentioned while the MX112-5 are, leaves room for questions. Am sure that Terry DeWick knows.
