C-504 matched to 2100?

Hi guys, brand new here. Caught the bug, and have coming an MC2100 -- very damn excited, my first foray into this stuff -- and just grabbed a C-504 preamp.
How is this going to stack up against a C-29 or C-32? I've looked at specs on the Russell site, but they don't mean much to me except the obvious fact that the noise levels appear to be good.

Is the C-504 a good match? Or should I keep an eye out for another preamp?

Hi Burke,
I read your other post about the Klipsch...I have La Scalas and they are great with McIntosh SS or tubes.

Regarding the 504....lots of folks say it has the best phono pre amp of the "earlier" models....by date it is "later" than the amp you have but has the newer 30 series technology in it. Did not sell well because of it diminutive size but she is every bit as good as the "standard" size preamps.

I believe the MX117 tuner/preamp has the 504 pre in it along with the 75 tuning section (just some added info here).

I almost jumped on a 504 for about the same money (maybe the same pre?) but an mc225 popped up so the bucks went in that direction....otherwise I would have gotten the 504 to go with my MC250 (1st. generation SS amp)

You did the right thing and got a sweet deal to boot.....every once in a while the matching tuner will pop up somewhere. Remember, the matching amp, the 502, is without autoformers, which you have with your amp and I like those autoformers!thmbsp:
