C/L PHX Wharfdale w-70... $199

I have a mint pair I bought off CL for $60. They even came with the owner's manual. They were on CL for at least a week and I was the only one who was interested in them. $200 is a fair price but not a screaming deal as the ones on eBay are way overpriced. That's why they have been sitting there for months.
 
Seemed like too good a deal (comparatively). Couldn't see any in Audiogon or Audio Asylum. How are they anyway? Similar to JBL L-100's or HPM 100's? Those I know.
 
In January, I won a so-so pair on eBay for $169. But the seller had me grab my ankles on shipping. They are sweet sounding but my JBLs rock.
 
Ive actually seen that pair in person.I bought a Pioneer tuner from him,and he showed me the Wharfies since I was curious about them.They have been totally refurbed professionally(theres a plaque on the back from the shop that did it).If I had 199 available right now,they would be mine,no questions asked.I havent heard them yet,but Ive owned w40's,and W40d's,and I bet I would LOVE these.He also had a wonderful pair of Celestion Ditton 66's,but they werent for sale.
Maybe he would hold them for me for a week? :scratch2:
 
I love my pair. I got a as AFAIC @ CDN$125 with stands delivered to my door. I'd be hard pressed to recommend a better set of speakers at the $200 price point that delivers as well so effortlessly.
