c2300 Volume Sweet Spot

I can adjust the output level of my DAC as was wondering what is the best volume setting on the C2300? I mean is it better to have a higher output level from the DAC and a lower volume setting on the c2300 or visa versa? Is there a sweet spot on the c2300?

As far as the Pre it's an electronic volume control and really is your controler for the system.
You also have line level setting. So the DAC can be turned up past the other inputs then set the Line level to match all the others. This way you can equal out all the inputs.

For best signal to noise ratio I would turn the DAC all the way up so it is running full bit. C2300 McIntosh preamps use a ladder resistor analog volume control that is digitally controlled so it is always full resolution. You can trim the DAC input up or down by 6dB in the C2300 to match your other inputs.

Thanks,
