Hello,

my name is Udo and I am new in this forum.
Last week I changed my tube preamplifier ( More Fidelity Pre )to a C2300.
It was a long haul but now the C2300 is in my system. After trying different preamplifiers I choose the C2300.

why?

- for me it is the best looking preamp on the market
- I am a Mcintosh aficionado
- I like tube amps
- I need a phono input
- I prefer XLR connections

Before changing to C2300 I listen to:

Cambridge Audio 840E
Onkyo Pr-SC 5507 ( testing surround )
Musical Fidelity M6pre
Mcintosh C200
BAT VK-42SE
Lyngdorf DPA-1

but now the C2300 stays in the system.

Welcome to AK and congratulations on your new preamp. Excellent choice. Let the 'tube-rolling' begin. What does your system (amp, speakers, etc.) consist of? You can click on the 'User CP' above and list in your 'signature' like many do. Where are you located?
 
I'm located in Germany. At the moment the C2300 is connected to a MC252 which drives Chario Ursa Major speakers. Next week I try Dynamikks db8.2 speakers.

Very nice system Udo. The C2300 is a great pre-amp. To get the best sound out of it you need to get some better tubes to replace the original McIntosh tubes. The difference in the sound will amaze you.

I have never seen or heard the C200 pre. What is your opinion of it.

I have already bought 2 pairs of 12AX7 tubes ;-)
One pair Gold Lion and one pair Psavane reference T-Series tubes. I will test it soon.

The C200 was a short intermezzo. I bought it used from a dealer. With RCA everthing was ok. but at home with the XLR connections I had a fault and so I gave it back.
