C2700 vs C22 mk 5 for vinyl-focused system

Hey all,

I got a line on a c2700 for a really good price. Im currently saving for a C22 mk 5, but i could grab the C2700 tomorrow. The C2700 seems like the better option for streaming, which is a plus, but vinyl is my priority so thats really just a tiebreaker. My question is: is there any discernible difference between the two for vinyl? Are there any considerations im missing? For what its worth, the c2700 is about 1/3 the price of a c22 mk 5.

Current setup:

Well Tempered Labs Reference TT with Grado Reference 3 MI cart
Mcintosh C29 preamp
Mcintosh Mc2155 powering highs
Mcintosh Mc2255 powerong lows
Fyne Audio F501sp speakers

I have the C22MKIV. I use MC and am very happy with it. I think the phonostage in the C2700 might be a little more flexible and quieter. Since it also comes with an DAC, it’d probably be more of a Swiss Army Knife preamp solution. Either one will be a major step up from a C29.

Good to know! I read that the c2700 has a good onboard DAC, hence the comment about streaming. But honestly I dont do a ton of streaming, just something to keep music playing when there's company ‍

From what I understand the analog sections of the C2700 and the current C22 are basically the same. The C2700 is essentially a C22 with additional inputs and outputs as well as the DA2.

I have a C2700 and I like it a lot but in a certain sense I kinda wish I had gotten the C22 instead since it’s totally analog with no firmware or screen so it should be relevant forever.

One of the main reasons I got the C2700 at the time was because I wanted the DAC but if the MDA200 was out when I got my C2700 I probably would have bought the C22 with the MDA200 instead.
