C49 reviews?

I've been looking at a used C2600, or for the same money I can buy a new C49.

Anyone have good or bad experience with the C49? Reasons you did or did not buy one?

I want built-in DAC, don't care much about tone controls and am not a tube-preamp fan so this seems like the logical choice for a fairly simple system.

The built-in DAC in my C47 has a problem of cutting off the first 1-second or so of a most tracks when using the USB inputs. The other DAC inputs don't have this issue but the USB is the only input that supports DSD and bit rates above 192/24.

So if I bought a C49 I would either want to confirm that the DA 1 module does not have this same issue with the USB input or get one with a DA 2 installed (if possible).

That's the only input I can give since I've not heard either a C2600 or a C49.

I've had my C48 for a while 7 years? something like that, its been very reliable, I have had next to no trouble with its onboard DAC, have to power-cycle on the odd occasion it doesn't show up in the Audio devices....
I was thinking of a C49 but I can't say I'm unhappy or feel I am missing something.

Maybe that could be an option?

The DA2 module is optional on the C49, but I haven't priced it.

I think the DAC2 is about 1K. Would like to buy a C49 with a eARC, maybe a DAC3.

I have had a C49 for a little over a year and I absolutely love it. It replaced an old Harman Kardon Citation preamp and I feel that the C49 sounds much better. I am using the balanced connections.

I also especially love the HR085 remote. It has such a quality feel - plus I have the C49 data port connected to the Mac CD so one remote does all.

In addition, I have the DC control output connected to a Furman power sequencer so my entire system can be turned on or off with the corresponding buttons on the remote.
