C50 USB Question

Is the USB display on my C50 supposed to show 32/192 all the time....no mater what music files I'm playing from my laptop? Even when nothing is playing it displays 32/192. Changing the settings in the McIntosh USB control panel plays music in slow motion. Not sure how its supposed to work. V2.11-2.21

Your USB source is feeding 32/192 to the C50 which is why it displays that. It will sound better if you use a music program and let the C50 control the computer asynchronously. See JRivers.

Thanks,

Hi Ron....Even if nothing at all is playing from my laptop? It still reads 32/192... even if its a lousy mp3 file..... or nothing at all. Should it display "silent" when nothing is playing? Anyways...also....the C50 digital information display when I'm using the C50 DAC from my CD player "44.1k" is flickering intermittently. Using a good quality digital coaxial or a good quality optical. This has me worried. Thanks

Need more details on what you have connected to the USB input. Pull the USB cable out and what does the display do on 16/44.1 PCM?

Hi Ron....Sorry...I'm not exactly sure what you mean..... pull the USB cable out(?).......16/44.1 PCM(?)...... I'm still learning on how to use the USB.
I'm using a windows 10 laptop. Downloaded the Mc software for the USB. Playing random music from my iTunes and Windows Media Player. Mp3, WAV, M4a, Flac, all at different bit rates. Also playing various internet radio from iTunes, Tune-in, etc......everything displays 32/192 on USB input. The C50 USB input displays 32/192 even when no music is playing and all the programs are closed. Fiddling around with the Mc USB Audio Control Panel and seeing how it works... changing the settings makes the music play in slow motion. On another side note....When using my 2 CD players digital outputs to the C50 Coaxial or optical, the "44.1k" display flickers. This is a separate issue I'm concerned about. I'm an old man...but a newbee to McIntosh digital. Hope you can help. Thank you!
