CA-2010 Amplifier - Why No Loudness Control?

Yamaha receiver series of the time (CR-X00 and CR-X20) have the continuously-variable Loudness control, as did my CA-810. Why not the CA-2010? Something to do with Class A operation? Just curious...

It was designed to appeal to a more serious clientele. Probably better to wonder why it had rather complex tone controls on board - probably just a consequence of the prevailing "sensibilities" of its era.

As good a rationale as any, but I'm with mrjbq - a more useful control for my listening habits...

Don't need no stinking loudness. Just turn the volume control clockwise..It will get loud..

Class A sounds great too.

I noticed it was missing right away but then forgot about it just as quickly.

I only touch the power, volume, and class A/normal switch on this awesome amp!

Not often, but I do use it

I just wondered if there was any particular reason for the 'omission', seeing as the CR-2020/ CR-3020/ CR-2040, etc all have it...
