I had posted another thread after getting back to my CA1000 (the input selector issue). But it has another major issue that I’m unsure about.
All I can describe is the sound. It has a narrow soundstage, sounds like it’s coming directly and only from the speakers. I tested the speakers with a basic Yamaha CRX330 and it sounded 10X better. And the CA1000’s left channel has some notable hiss/noise. I was using Tape A and B inputs since the input selector isn’t working right.
I had done a lot of work on it years ago. It had a total recap (quality caps, included the recommend power supply caps by avionic), relay replacement, transistor replacements, etc. For years it sounded awesome with my Klipsch RB75s.
What are areas I need to look at?
