We have been using a Cambridge 550c as a standalone CD player for a few years... this budget model sounds great to my ears without the aid of an external DAC.
Fast forward a few years and I obtained a Cambridge DAC magic 100 to play flac files off a laptop via USB.
Do you feel playing the 550C thru the DACmagic via toslink or coax would be an improvement over the DAC in the CD player itself?
Is the DAC inside the CD player or superior build quality than the DACmagic 100?
