hi all, i was using the above which was working fine. recently when i switched it on it just powered and there was no display. my service technician said this could be due to a faulty IC . and it was replaced also. but still the cd player is not coming to life . technician says that he couldnt exactly identify this issue and there seems to be some crystals of the ic which is not powering up and hence no display and life. can somebody help please.TIA

No display backlight, or no digits visible?

Former might be backlight PSU or backlight device. Latter might be more significant; controller failure.

But could easily be a connector issue.

Does it actually play?
Does the drive do anything?
Does the tray work?
Does it respond to button presses?

it just powers on and shuts down.as like the display. it seems to be a Servo power issue. i replaced an IC named u2 and still no improvement. seems the power is not holding in the board. technician says that it could be due to a particular crystal not getting activated. as you said controller failure. but how to rectify. TIS
