I want to get a DAC.This will be my first.So far I'm interested in Cambridge Audio Dacmagic Plus,ASUS Eseence One,and STU.I don't really have a budget,but don't wanna spend a lot.
Someone who is in High End stuff, suggested the Dacmagic. For the money it sounds very good.
The thing that interests me is:will I only get the audio coming from the audio/media player?:scratch2:Or I will get all the audio coming from the pc.
I use Foobar to listen to my own music. But sometimes I like to listen to Radio Swiss Jazz, which uses an online player. And what about the audio from YouTube?

you'd have to check about the connectability of the current model of Dac Magic, but I'd vouch for the bang for the buck part. I've had mine for a few years, I'm quite sure I could move up the food chain for some decent bucks, but am quite happy for how the thing handles CDs from my universal player.

I just got my first DAC, its a Aune T-1. sounds great from my PC and good reviews so far from HeadFi and the Forum, not expensive either at 159.00. just my 2 cents. :)

There are a lot of nice DACs.At almost every price/for every pocket.
But,my question is,do you get the audio only from the music player?(while using a PC,of course)

Both/either I would think if it has a connection for digital and optical.
Hopefully this will help. This is what I have and how I'm using it.
I have a Schiit Bifrost dac. The rca outputs on they dac go to an integrated amp,and my cd player thru the dac with a digital cable and my laptop into the dac with a toslink cable. The dac will let you switch from optical to digital with the press of a button.

So I decided to go forward and got it.:music::banana:
And YES,it does get all the audio from the computer,no matter if it's a player of a internet page(youTube and others)

i found my dacmagic sounds better when i use the xlr outputs. monoprice has nice xlr to rca cables that are super cheap. a bit more high frequency perhaps and smoother too.

Depends on your needs, do you actually only need an UPS output or do you need coax/digital in ?
The Dagmagic is a good DAC, but like you said, there is so many good and cheap DAC out there which will fill every taste/packet :)

The only "down side" is the power supply.Just a simple one 12V,2A.I know it's enough, but still...it has to be pretty too:yes:
