Can a G-6700 drive 6 ohm speakers?

Folks:
I have a 9090DB and a G-6700. I have a user manual for the 9090DB but NOT the G-6700 and I have driven a pair of 6 ohm speakers with no problem with the 9090DB (actually I even drove a pair of 4 ohm speakers at moderate volume levels for a couple of hours and the 9090DB didn't even get warm). Don't know about the G-6700 however...

If anyone has a user manual for the G-6700 and would send me a copy, that would be wonderful! My concern however is that I'd like to run some 6 ohm speakers but I don't want to burn out the G-6700 or destroy the speakers. Obviously I can find the answer to this experimentally (i.e., hook up the speakers and see if the receiver gets hot) but I would be much more comfortable if someone with experience could reassure me beforehand. 8^)

Shouldn't have a problem driving 6 ohm speakers..even 4 ohm speakers would be ok. Just as long as you only have one pair of speakers hooked up at any time.

The only thing you need to worry about is not overdriving the receiver. I had a nice pair of Infinity Reference two speakers (6 ohm) and in a moment of drunken stupor decided to really crank them. Both speakers were trashed. Having said that, the receiver was driving the speakers nicely at VERY high volume levels for as long as I cared to listen, which in some cases was hours. The speakers were trashed out of my stupidity not because the receiver couldn't handle the load. You should be fine :yes:
