Can anyone help me find a replacement dustcover for my 1990s Scott PS4004 Linear Tracking turntable?

Can anyone help me find a replacement dustcover for my 1990s Scott PS4004 Linear Tracking turntable? It has a crack down the middle from something falling on it. I tried gluing it but no luck. It has a very specific, somewhat unique shape, etc., and I'm surprised at how hard it's been to find one out there anywhere - old stock, maybe on hand at the company that bought them out, used in good condition, even just a used turntable for parts from which I could harvest it..? I've been away from my records and such for years as I had them all in storage while I was on the other side of the country for work and then moving back and forth due to a family emergency and just didn't use any of my stuff for over a decade. Now, I've unpacked it all and am trying to have fun with it all again but things have changed in the marketplace, it would seem...

Any suggestions? THANKS!

This isn't the case. Not many new cartridges being made, but copious options on the used market, from shure to AT to Pickering. No shortage of styli either.

Also, that's a belt linked, not even a stylus, and op was looking for a dust cover...

Op, your best bet would be to find a donor unit. I don't think anyone is making this style top aftermarket. Thankfully the arm isn't mounted to the top, so it should function fine without?

Thanks. Wow, I never thought there would be much of a market for used cartridges but I guess it makes sense that there would be. AM I correct in remembering that whatever cartridge I get would have to be a model that fits my model or are they all universal mounts? Alsom styli: are they all the same or only some fit certain cartridges?

Your idea of a donor unit is the option that makes the most sense to me, but so far even that has been hard to find. I searched for one online and found something interesting, though: a turntable exactly like mine, including the crack down the middle. I guess there may be a long road to hoe finding the donor but it would seem shorter than the road for a cover alone. But yeah the arm is completely separate from unattached to the cover, thankfully.

There is a company that makes custom covers, so, if worse came to worst, I guess I could order one from them, but it seems expensive and wouldn't be an exact match... Have you ever done anything like that?

I've actually made a few of my own, just straight boxes that sit over everything. Vhb tape works great. Ended up being too chunky and awkward as my tables are on shelves. It's the kind of thing you can order online, or have made at your local plastics place.

The aftermarket cartridge market is strong. Most linear tables use a pmount cartridge, and if yours is the same then it's a simple plug and play, no alignment needed (or possible on most cases).

You mentioned how uncommon and unusual the turntable is but are surprised that it's hard to find a dustcover. One seems to follow from the other... ;)

Anyway, Scott wasn't likely the maker of that turntable and it was probably identical or nearly so to other models or brands so that might greatly increase your chances. I don't yet have a good guess at similar ones but will look around.

Yeah, I had thought about that as well but don't know who else made them then and some tat I've seen that were similar still seemed different enough that I couldn't be sure the covers would fit. I wish there was just some comprehensive list of stuff like this somewhere... Thanks again for the assist.
