Can anyone identify these bizarre speakers on PBS Great Performances?

On the latest episode the pianist Stewart Goodyear is trying perform, conduct and improvise a Mozart piano concerto, and for part of his research he visits an audiophile/record collector to listen to other interpretations of the score.

Of course the audio system their listening to is very expensive and I don't recognize the very odd looking loudspeakers or the (acrylic?) turntable.

Does anyone know what these are?
