Can anyone identify these speakers?

Hello, long time reader of the am forums, finally made an account and I stumbled across some interesting speakers today that I haven't seen before and I can't identify them and the seller doesn't know either. Does anyone know what these are? And are they worth a crap? Thanks!!

No idea but they all look like Phillips drivers. Keep the drivers and trash the cabs, as they defy the politically correct way to hi-fi...
 
Rewired, each one could make a one piece stereo pair. Or even better, pull the outside drivers as well as the lower tweeter on the inside, plug the holes and you have a two great speakers mildly reminiscent of ADS L/1230/1530/2030 and all sorts of goodies to sell on BT or Ebay. I've never seen a Phillips woofer that big, very cool.
 
Thank you all for the information. What would be a fair price for something like this? He has them listed for 150 which I feel is a bit high.

Given the apparent age they probably need crossover caps, and make sure all the drivers actually work, then listen.

In case you're curious, the potential design flaw is that mids and tweeters are separated which can cause some sonic issues. They may not have super stereo imaging, but they sure would fill a room if you're not fussy about the sweet spot.
 
When you buy a pair of speakers, the first thing anyone wants to do is to listen to them. It's also a pretty good way of seeing if anything is amiss.It seems psychologically punishing to do all sorts of technical stuff before listening. It also smacks of 'If it ain't broke, fix it until it is' -- pulling drivers and breaking any airtight seal that exists, and maybe having to unsolder them without knowing if there is anything wrong with them seems misguided to me. And they may already have film caps.
Of course I may be taking the previous advice too literally....
 
I had planned on giving them a good listen first. I too am interested in the sound. I was going to listen and see if I like them the way that they are. But I do want to see whats inside.

Edit: I thought it would be assumed I would have given a good listen before diving in

Yeah, I agree Nat, I wasn't suggesting to not put anything through them until they were recapped. More that some critical listening should be done prior to parting them out, and if they have ancient caps, that critical listening might sound better with fresh caps. But hook em up, you probably can't hurt them by playing them as is. Unless there are blown drivers, or shorted caps...see I'm doing it again. :naughty:
 
Buy them, listen carefully to them, then move them around back & forth from the rear wall, toe them in & out to get the best sound staging. I think you have a real nice set with oddles of potential to sound good! A possible recap may be in order, but that is not to much $$. Good luck!
