Can anyone identify this speaker?

Can anyone identify this speaker? My dad bought the set at an antique shop and said they sound really good. There’s no name anywhere on them.

At first glance they look like smaller brothers to the rare McIntosh ML-4M speakers. But, they are not.

A closer look mixed with a little reality makes me think they're likely companion speakers to an American made stereo console.

Looks like fake walnut veneer (take a look at the base), so probably dates to the 1970s. Grill might be removable.

This^^ Most likely from a SS Maggie et.al console from the 70's.

You'll probably need to open them up and check the speaker codes to give a clue as to where they may have come from. They do appear to be something the 70's era SS Magnavox console folks would have done.

Thanks for the replies! The grills don't come off (so says my dad, I haven't made it over to take a look at them yet) but I'll try to open them up and report back.

I'd be curious to see the back of them. The speaker connections and or plate at least might tell us a little more about it.
