Can I damage a receiver by connecting an FM antenna wrong?

Hi everybody,
Was wondering if by not connecting an fm antenna to the 300ohm or 75ohm terminals correctly (connecting just one wire to one of the 300ohm terminals or connecting a wrong kind of cable etc...)
can cause any damage to the receiver.
I own a Marantz MR230 since 1979 that still ROCKS that I wouldn't replace it for anything else and recently I wanted to improve FM reception.

Thanks in advance.

No, you cannot. An incorrect connection can reduce signal strength, but that's all.

Roof antenna hit by lightning will do it :D.

Well, a bolt of lightning will also kill a receiver with a properly connected antenna. As will an errant glass of beer, which I can attest to through direct personal experience.
