Hey guys, you may have see in here that I recently picked up three Canton speakers, two SC-L floor-standers and an AV950 center. The center was completely dead and the midrange/tweeter on one of the SC-Ls wouldn't kick in. I took them into the shop, and sure enough the caps on the board in the 950 exploded and took the woofers and tweeter with them, and the tower had the resistors get too hot, leaky caps, and the midrange and tweeter died. I got in contact with the American Canton distributor, and Canton has the tweeter and woofers for the center, the tweeter for the tower, but don't have the midrange 5" 6 hole driver for the tower in the system. However, each of these parts ranges in price from $160-200 each, not including tax and shipping from Germany. I've already got $500 into these speakers, thinking it was purely a crossover problem.
The part numbers are on the SC-L are #5990 tweeter and #5916 mid, and on the 950 a #1798 tweeter and two #1797 woofers. Is anybody familiar with the specs on these parts, where I may be able to find some parts cheaper, or even comparable parts to replace the originals?
