Can not wean off of film

We've had a lot of snow and cold weather over the past couple of weeks and this morning I noticed some interesting snow forms on the rear fence. I wanted to use the dslr. While I watched the DC festivities, I monitored the sunlight as it moved to where I wanted. Happily, the light was getting where I wanted it during the parade.

I reached, grabbed the camera and headed out for some hand shots. Oh, the dslr sat there. Instead I grabbed the Bronica ETRS loaded with a 120 load of Reala and had a 50mm lens attached. As I moved to the back, I set the exposure come to 1.75x and the metering to AE. It just felt so good to feel the heft, see the image through the bright viewfinder and the reassuring thunk as I gently triggered the shutter. In a 30 minute period when through 15 shots, the entire roll.

Maybe I'm just too old but I just can not give up my Bronica except maybe for snap shots.

I went to drop a new load of film in and had to get some out of the freezer. Picked up a bag and found a treasure trove of film I'd forgotten about. About a dozen rolls of TechPan in 120 and 35mm, another dozen rolls of Kodachome 25, and another couple of dozen rolls of various 35 and 120 b&w including APX25 and 100. With the film I just bought, Ive got about 50 rolls sitting in the freezer of various types. I'm so happy!

I opened another bag and there were about a dozen rolls of exposed and forgotten film in both 35 and 120 loads from maybe a dozen years ago. I'll take them to the photo lab in the next few days. I suspect the Scala can not be developed as I think all the labs have closed down though.

You can set the Kodachrome 25 on the shelf and look at it there is no longer a lab that can process it as anything but B&W. Dwyanes in Kansas City is the only lab left in the world that will do 64 and 200 They are a different process then 25.

And you will have to do the Techpan yourself unless you can find a lab that will use chemicals you bring them. Last I heard to get real techpan developer you had to mix it from raw chemicals your self.
 
I've read the 25 is only good for completing a vintage camera display. The TechPan can be developed with most chemicals but each will bring out a different character of the film. Processing in Technidol yielded a hi-contrast result. I've got to see if I have my old notes as to the other developer results. It can be developed as a positive and yields lower contrast, very wide tonality and no grain. I used to have about 80% of my 120 processed as such using the Kodak developer used for other neg film to develop as a slide.

I'm going to check with the guys at dr5 to see what they can do as well as to see if they also still process the Scala. Their site still advertises the service. I just came across the site.
 
I think I still have 2-3 rolls of 35mm tech in the fridge
I also have a huge like 500 foot roll of slide dupe film that has been frosen it's whole life except when it traveled to me over 3 days when some guy gave it to me NOW what to do with that much low contrast slide film???

I just sold my slide duplicator!!!

I'm pretty sure Kodachrome 25 is no different process than the other recent Kodachromes. Like K64 and K200, K25 is a K-14 process and can still be processed by Dwayne's.

Earlier K-12 Kodachromes can only be processed as B&W, but K25 can still be processed as intended--for now. The only thing is that unless it was kept frozen until being used, it may have a magenta cast.

BTW, what kind of dupe film are you stuck with?
